"WELCOME TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAW TO OPERATE COURIER AND LOGISTICS SERVICES IN NIGERIA"

By the provisions of Section 43 of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) Act Cap N127, LFN 2004 and the Courier and Logistics Regulatory (OPERATION) guidelines,
"no person shall operate Courier and Logistics services in Nigeria unless the person is registered under the companies and Allied matters with an object clause to carry out Courier and Logistics business, and a grant of an Operating license by the Postmaster General of the Federation". 
 
On the strength of these extant laws and regulations, fresh operating licenses were presented to thirteen (13) newly registered and licensed companies today, Thursday 15th August 2024. 
 
On behalf of the Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO. Eng Tola Odeyemi, the General Manager, Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD), Mr. Gideon. O. Shonde warmly welcomed the new investors/business promoters to the NIPOST Board Room in Lafiaji Obalende Lagos.
He congratulated them all for being on the right side of the law to operate Courier and Logistics business in the country. 
 
The GM(CLRD) advised the new investors/operators to abide by the rules and regulations of the courier and logistics business for a sustainable growth and health relationship in the industry. 
 
The main lecture of the program was presented by the AGM(ICT), Mr. Yinka Oke.
It is titled, "REGULATORY GUIDELINES AND THE COURIER INDUSTRY 
 
At the end of the lecture, the business promoters were given the opportunity to ask questions, and they were answered clinically by the General Manager.
 
Mr. Johnson Patrick, one of the business promoters at the event, advised that based on his personal experience having retired meritoriously as a General Manager BULKPOST, the private operators should eschew price undercutting and other unethical sharp practices in the industry.
He gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the new investors/licensees. 
 
Finally, Operating License and certificates of attendance were presented to them individually on behalf of the Postmaster General of the Federation by the General Manager (CLRD)
