COURTESY VISIT OF THE GENERAL MANAGER COURIER AND LOGISTICS REGULATORY DEPARTMENT TO LAGOS ZONE
The General Manager Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department Mr 'Dotun G Shonde and his team were at the Lagos Zonal Headquarters earlier today. They were warmly received by the Zonal Manager Dr Michael Umo and some of the DZMs in the Zone.
The GM Mr G 'Dotun Shonde in his remarks emphasised the need to synergize the operations between the Zone and the CLRD.
Asides the business prospects in Lagos State, the GM said the visit was also to formally inform the Zone of some innovation and product development that has taken place in the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Services rendered by NIPOST recently.
These changes bothers on full automation of all processes that are geared towards ease of doing legal courier business, creating a more condusive environment for potential investors in the industry, attracting genuine investors and for a better regulatory approach nationwide.
The GM stated that in the recently reviewed Courier and Logistics Regulatory Guidelines by NIPOST, License categorisation was considered.Thus, there is room for flexibility as four (4 ) categories of Licenses is being considered.
International, National, Regional and State (SMEs). This will help in capturing all the SMEs springing up daily in Lagos especially with a view to regulate and streamline their operations to the greater good of NIPOST. He mentioned that CLRD has been rebranded to the level that all that is needed to verify the legality of any Courier Company or Independent Operator is to type in the name of the Company on our website link. And failure of the details of the Company to pop-up depict the fact that that Company is an illegal and unlicensed courier and Logistics operator in Nigeria.
The Zonal Manager Dr Michael Umo in his response assured the GM of the full support of the Zone in order to achieve the resounding success needed by NIPOST as a whole.
