The Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD) NIPOST today, 20th of march 2024,  visited the newly appointed Honourable Commissioner of Transport, Lagos State.

The General Manager, Courier, and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD), Mr. Gideon Oludotun Shonde appreciated him for making time to attend to him and also extended the warm greetings from the Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO,

Engr Tola Odeyemi.

 

The G.M. (CLRD) explained to the Honourable Commissioner of transportation the two reasons for the courtesy visit and the strategic business meeting as follows. 

 

1. To renew the long existing, healthy collaboration between the Ministry of Transport (Lagos state) and the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD) NIPOST. 

 

2. To discuss and review the existing memorandum of understanding (M.O.U) between M.O.T and CLRD(NIPOST) in the area of joint enforcement operations and industrial training programs.

 

In response, the Honourable Commissioner of Transportation, Lagos State, thanked the G.M. CLRD and his team. He commended the giant stride by the First Lady Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO (NIPOST), Eng Tola Odeyemi.

The Honourable Commissioner of Transportation accepted the fact that the existing M.O.U for collaboration between Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and CLRD(NIPOST) is long over due for review in view of the present ecomonic reality and changes in the regulatory environment. 

 

On the strength of this, he therefore directed that a review committee should meet immediately for the review of the MOU.
