"CLRD NIPOST'S VISIT TO COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (AIRPORT COMMAND)."

 FAMILIARIZATION VISIT OF COURIER AND LOGISTICS REGULATORY DEPARTMENT (CLRD) NIPOST TO COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (AIR PORT COMMAND).

 
In continuation of his tour of duty to all critical stakeholders, the G.M CLRD) Mr Dotun G. Shonde today Tuesday 18th March 2024 paid a familiarization visit to APOC  commissioner of police, CP Aminu Baba Raji, psc at his office. 
 
The GM was accompanied by his management team, which comprises Mrs. Igbo Bridge, head (Investigation and Security). Mr. Banks Worimegbe, head of Ethics, (Complaints and Strategy). Barr (Mrs) Mariam Jogai Ogundeji head (Legal Services and Compliance) and the facilitator of the visit,  Mr. Ajibade Adedayo head (Corporate Communication).
 
The GM(CLRD) expressed the profound greetings from the Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, Engr. Tola Odeyemi to the CP. 
 
He declared that the purpose of the courtesy visit is to fraternise with airport police command and to rejig the cordial relationship existing between both organizations.
 
He said the second reason is to seek collaboration in areas of law enforcement in the Courier Shed at  the Airport
He said the rate at which agents operate without licence is becoming alarming, which exposes the society to the danger of transmitting illegal small arms and illicit drugs. 
According to him, these unscrupulous elements are still bent on perpetuating these nefarious activities despite various public education, radio jingles, television interviews, and all available social media platforms to explain the consequences of operating without licence and documentation.
 
He specifically mentioned SACHO and NAHCO as some parts of areas where unlicensed elements operate unfettered.
 
He notified the Commissioner that Enforcement/ Compliance Taskforce will be emplaced this quarter and in this area. Therefore, assistance will be needed from CP to avail the department his personnel to weed these people out of Airport for the sanity and good image to the country.
 
In his response, the CP promised to grant them all they asked for as he directed the DPOs of the stations covering the aforementioned areas to give them assistance as requested.
 
Finally, souvenirs and corporate gift items containing what the department does were presented to the commissioner of police. Airport Command as they posed for group photographs.
 
 
The group picture was taken after the strategic business meeting between the Commissioner of Police and the Management Team of Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department (CLRD), NIPOST.
